Reel Earth Awards celebrate integrity and excellence in international and New Zealand film making, and aim to inspire and reward creators of high impact film about the environment. Juried awards with prizes in excess of US$6000 are already secured for 2010 festival entrants.
Early Bird Discount ends 05 Jan 10 (postmark date). Regular Entry closes 19 Jan 10. Late Entry (fees apply) are accepted until 09 February 10.
About Reel Earth
New Zealand is an enthusiastic audience for Festival Film - a tiny country with a big heart that loves the cinematic arts and the natural world. At Reel Earth we aim to make a positive difference for the environment by connecting people with the best films of our time – your films.
Our focus encompasses the range of environment themes - natural history, contemporary issues, and environmental justice. With over US$6000 already secured for prize money, Reel Earth's Awards offer a valuable, robustly juried competition for both International and New Zealand filmmakers. Emerging and Young NZ filmmakers are also welcomed and recognised by Reel Earth.
Reel Earth was founded in 2005 as the Aotearoa Environmental Film Festival, and has blossomed into a leading environment film festival in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2009 we screened to an audience of over 8,000.
Environmental integrity is core to our philosophy. Reel Earth, our sponsors and festival partners all demonstrate a tangible commitment to environmental sustainability in their practices.
