Anna Hickman - Director / Producer - Country of Origin: New Zealand
| When she's not filming in southeast Asia, Anna teaches Media Studies at Nelson College for Girls, on the top of the South Island of New Zealand. Work on Anna's film debut Herbal Pathways (Vietnam / New Zealand 2009) began in 2006 when she was awarded a one year Teacher Fellowship by the New Zealand Sciences, Mathematics and Technology programme. She became interested in the story through her partner’s involvement with the project, and decided it would be an excellent subject for film. Anna is a keen advocate for youth and student made film, and works with students in Nelson to co-ordinate local theatre festival screenings for their own short drama and documentary works. Her next film project keeps her closer to home, with a focus on the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary, a community based initiative to create a wildlife sanctuary near Nelson. |  |
