Music for the evening will be a live performance from the globally recognized leading sound in reggae, legendary Wellington band The Black Seeds.Their amazing sound in the sweet acoustic atmosphere of the magnificent Regent Theatre will be an absolutely magical experience.
Winning New Zealand and international films will be announced to the exhilarating roll of the International Pacific College's acclaimed Kodama Drummers as juried results are revealedfor the internationally contested Best Feature, Best Short and Best Ultra Short film awards, and in the New Zealand jury pool for Best Film, Best Filmmaker and Best Emerging Filmmaker.
An after-function 'street party' off Broadway carries on the evening with filmmakers, guests and friends celebrating the start of two weeks of this year's best green screen stories, undoubtedly the best ever collection to grace the big screen in all of Australasia.

13 May 2010.  Reel Earth announces with regret that due to the untimely ill health of their Director, premiere guest presenter Vincent Laforet will not be appearing at their Gala Opening event 22 May in Palmerston North.  The remaining elements of his tour in New Zealand as previously listed on the Reel Earth website will also not be ccurring.
