	Palmerston North City Library The Palmerston North City Library is absolutely delighted to support Reel Earth. Film and animation are powerful and engaging story telling forms – and stories are a cornerstone of every public library. The core purpose of the City Library is "to inspire people to explore the pathways to the world'. Those pathways are many and varied; the ubiquitous book, a piece of music, a work of art, conversation, or a film - short or long, black and white or in colour. The writer, the artist and the cinematographer are all cultural magicians intensely involved in the process of crafting cultural treasures, more often than not designed to broaden human perspectives. The City Library enthusiastically welcomes the opportunity to honour our cultural artists for their work in exploring one of the pathways to the world and in turn challenging us all to view the world differently.

	NZ Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre The NZAGRC is proud to be sponsoring the “Best Communication of Science” award in the 2010 Reel Earth Festival. The Centre believes that good, clear communication of science is pivotal in today’s fast paced world. It is especially important to promote the research that is being conducted here in New Zealand and on our doorstep in the Manawatu. The Centre’s role is to find ways for New Zealand to meet its international greenhouse gas emission obligations without reducing agricultural output. Through undertaking high quality research and by close interaction with the public, industry and policy stakeholders, the Centre will also become a shop window through which New Zealand displays its commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of farming.
