Reel Earth Environmental Film Festival is New Zealand’s only film festival focusing specifically on nature and the environment - and it’s right here in Palmerston North.

For the 13th year in a row Reel Earth is set to wow it’s audience with a showcase of the best and most recent environmental films – both home grown and from around the globe. 

This year Reel Earth presents entertaining and thought provoking documentaries on marine conservation, the health of our rivers, the evolution of animal rights, the dark side of fast fashion, the polarizing topic of GMO food, and AWARD WINNING films on climate change, marine noise pollution, and primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall.

Our film+talk series means you’ll have the opportunity to discuss these topics with presenters, filmmakers and other experts at each of our screenings.

WHERE: Films will be screened in Palmerston North and nearby, in places you’d expect - and some you don't. We reprise the and special events for kids and youth. See the 2018 film programme.

TICKETS: Available on Eventfinda and at the door ($3-5), some events are free but need to register on Eventfinda.

SHORT FILM COMPETITION 2018: Our annual short film competition is open to all ages –Awards to be presented at the Reel Earth opening night on 1 May 5:30pm The Globe, Palmerston North.
